Buca di Beppo is a American-Style Italian Restaurant that has many locations primarily in North America, but also the UK. They have a few decent vegan options including pasta, salad, some vegetables, and bread.
Table of Contents
While some Italian chain-restaurants, such as Olive Garden, seem to have bad consistency and trouble keeping their allegedly vegan items vegan at all locations, that’s not a problem at Buca di Beppo. They’re good at staying consistent; their vegan options should always be vegan.
Vegan Appetizers at Buca di Beppo:
- Bruschetta (No Mozzarella or Parmesan)
- Bread & Garlic Olive-Oil or Mariana Sauce
You can also order garlic fries without Parmesan on them as an appetizer, but in truth it’s only supposed to be a side dish, at least according to their menu.
Vegan Pasta Options at Buca di Beppo:
- Spaghetti Noodles
- Linguine Noodles
- Penne Noodles
- Rigatoni (Ziti) Noodles
- Mariana Sauce
- Garlic Olive Oil
Keep in mind you can add 3-4 vegetables to your sauce/pasta for free. Their vegan vegetable add-ins include: Diced Tomatoes, Sun-dried Tomatoes, Spinach, Green Peas, Onion Chunks, Broccoli, Sauteed Mushrooms, Artichokes, Poached Garlic, and Red bell Peppers.
Buca di Beppo Vegan Pizza Options:
- Veggie Pizza (No Cheese)
The Pizza isn’t very popular at Buca di Beppo, but in my experience it’s pretty good. Not the best pizza, but certainly better than places like Pizza Hut. They don’t have any vegan cheese or fake-meat options though, so the pizza’s just a pretty standard vegetable pizza. Nothing fancy.
Vegan Salad Options at Buca di Beppo:
- Garlic Olive-oil sauce
- Varied Vinaigrette’s
- Mixed Greens Full-Size Salad (No Cheese, Sub for vegan dressing)
- Mixed-Greens Side-Salad (No Cheese, Sub for Vegan Dressing)
-
Apple Gorgonzola Salad (No Cheese, Sub for Vegan dressing)
You can also make a “Pasta Salad” using the Garlic Olive-oil sauce and pasta noodles with vegetables, although it’s not an official menu option.
Vegan Sides at Buca di Beppo:
- Mixed Greens Side-Salad (No Cheese, Sub for vegan dressing)
- Steamed Green Beans
- Steamed broccoli
- Garlic Fries (No Parmesan)
- Bread (No Butter or Parmesan)
As mentioned above in the salad section the vegan dressings are the Garlic Olive-oil and various Vinaigrette’s.
Vegan Dessert Options at Buca di Beppo:
- None
Unfortunately most Buca di Beppo locations have absolutely no vegan options when it comes to desserts.
How is Buca di Beppo for a Vegan?
While Macaroni Grill has more vegan options, and I prefer them to Buca di Beppo, they both have completely adequate vegan options. I wouldn’t complain if people wanted to go eat at either place, as they both have some pretty decent vegan options that’ll more than satisfy a vegans hunger.
I do think Buca di Beppo does a better job than Olive Garden or Carrabbas Italian Grill, as at least in my opinion I enjoy Buca di Beppo’s pastas more and they also offer pizzas and stuff that neither Olive Garden or Carrabbas does.
