Jimmy John’s by far isn’t the most vegan place out there, although it is possible to build a decent vegetable-sandwich there.

The reason I say they aren’t very vegan-friendly is that the owner and founder of this chain is particularly cruel to animals and openly participates and advocates for “trophy” hunting and killing endangered animals for sport.
So I’d recommend avoiding eating here, as places like Subway or Pita pit have arguably more and better vegan options and don’t have openly despicable founders.
Vegan Breads at Jimmy Johns:
- French Bread
- Unwitch (lettuce wrap)
While there was controversy in the Vegan-Community before as their bread used to be non-vegan it’s apparently vegan now.
Well their french bread is vegan, both of their 9-Grain Wheat Bread’s contain honey.
Vegan Bread Topping Options at Jimmy Johns:
- Cucumber
- Lettuce
- Onion
- Tomato
- Avacado
- Jalapenos
- Celery
- Alfalfa Sprouts
- Pickles
If they have any other vegetables they should be Vegan as they don’t do any funny business to their vegetables, but other vegetables aren’t standardized so I didn’t include them. These should be available at all locations.
Vegan Sauces/Spreads at Jimmy Johns:
- Avocado Spread
- Italian Vinegarette
- Oil & Vinegar Sauce
- Oregano-Basil
- Grey Poupon (Mustard-like thing)
- Regular Mustard
Everything Else That’s Vegan at Jimmy Johns:
- Classic Jimmy Chips
- Thinny Chips
- Jalapeno Jimmy Chips
- BBQ Jimmy Chips
Their cookies aren’t vegan, nor is their mayo, cheese, or anything like that. They don’t have a vegan version of those things.
So how is Jimmy Johns for a Vegan?
I’d never eat here regularly simply because I find the founder despicable and their competitors have better vegan options in my opinion, but if I was in a pinch I could whip up a sandwich to get myself by.
I’d recommend just making a botched avocado sandwich or avocado toast for the most part, as to me you’d have a hard time building a satisfying sub without guacamole here at Jimmy Johns.
