Pielogy has tons of vegan options, including some vegan-“proteins,” a vegan crust, as well as numerous vegan sauces and vegetable toppings to choose from.
Table of Contents
Unfortunately, Pieology only has one vegan crust to choose from: The Gluten-Free Crust. All the other crusts are non-vegan due to containing honey or dairy (whey), which sucks big-time in my book. But hey, the gluten-free crust IS better than most other gluten-free crusts I’ve had.
Build-Your-Own Vegan Pizza Options at Pieology:
- Pick Your Crust – Gluten-Free Crust (Only 100% Vegan Crust, Artisan Wheat Crust contains honey and others contain dairy and/or eggs)
- Pick Your Sauce – BBQ Sauce, Classic Red Pizza Sauce, or Fiery Buffalo Sauce
- Pick Your Crust’Rub – Garlic-Herb “Butter,” Liquid “Butter” alternative, or Olive oil.
- Decide if you want (Free) Vegan Cheese – They only have Daiya Cheese, but hey, it’s something.
- Pick Your Vegan (Regular) Toppings – Mushrooms, red onions, green peppers, artichokes, garlic, pineapple, fresh cilantro, spinach, banana peppers, fresh basil, grape tomatoes, jalapenos, black olives, and roasted red peppers.
- Choose Your Premium (Vegan) “Protein” (or not): – Vegan Meatballs, Vegan Spicy Sausage Slices, or Gardein Chicken Chunks (the non-breaded kind)
- Pick Your Pizza “Dressing:” – Basil, BBQ Sauce, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Fiery Buffalo, or House Red Sauce.
While there’s plenty of vegan-friendly pizza options at Pieology, their crusts are seriously lacking compared to their competitors. Not only does their traditional crusts contain whey, but even their “healthy” crust such as the Cauliflower-Crust contains milk and eggs and thus isn’t vegan.
Build-Your-Own Vegan Salad Options at Pieology:
- Choose Your Vegan Salad Base – Spinach, Spring Mix, or Romaine Lettuce
- Choose Your Toppings – Mushrooms, red onions, green peppers, artichokes, garlic, pineapple, fresh cilantro, spinach, banana peppers, fresh basil, grape tomatoes, jalapenos, black olives, and roasted red peppers.
- Choose Your Premium (Vegan) “Protein” (or not): – Vegan Meatballs, Vegan Spicy Sausage Slices, or Gardein Chicken Chunks (the non-breaded kind)
- Decide if you want Daiya Cheese on your Salad
- Pick Your Dressing – There’s no real Salad dressings at Pieology that are vegan, but the Olive oil mixed with the Garlic-Herb “Butter” is likely the best alternative to a “real salad dressing.”
It’s really frustrating that they don’t have any real vegan dressing available, I mean every restaurant even the most vegan unfriendly one usually has balsamic vinaigrette. But Pieology doesn’t, they don’t have any vegan salad dressing.
Vegan Desserts at Pieology:
- None
There are no real vegan desserts at Pieology, nor any good replacements (fruits for example) for “regular” desserts currently.
How’s Pieology for a Vegan?
Pieology is a pretty alright choice for a vegan, but I’d say it’s not too vegan-friendly for a pizza place. Their main competitors, such as Blaze Pizza, have more vegan options such as numerous crusts and actual vegan salad dressings, while still having vegan-friendly “meat” and “cheese” options as well. Even more “traditional” pizza places, such as Mellow Mushroom, have more options.
None the less, Pieology is still pretty decent for vegans to eat at. It’s just not quite as vegan friendly as it could be.
