Offering a gluten-free and vegan pizza crust, plant-based sauces, loads of veggie toppings, and meat alternatives, there are many vegan options at Pieology.
Table of Contents
Pieology has many vegan-friendly ingredients to choose from. That makes it easy for vegans to build their own pizza. However, you only have one crust and dairy-free cheese option. Those are the Gluten-Free crust and Daiya mozzarella. Pieology vegan menu is limited to pizzas and salads.
Create your perfect Pieology Vegan Pizza
- Choose your crust – Gluten-Free crust. This one is easy. It’s the only vegan-friendly crust out of their four available pizza crust options.
- Choose your crust oil – Garlic herb butter, liquid butter alternative, or olive oil.
- Choose your sauce – House-Made Red sauce, BBQ sauce, or Fiery Buffalo sauce.
- Choose your cheese – Daiya mozzarella. This is the only vegan cheese Pieology offers.
- Choose your toppings – Black olives, banana peppers, roasted red peppers, green peppers, artichokes, red onions, cilantro, garlic, fresh basil, grape tomatoes, spinach, jalapenos, mushrooms, and even pineapple if that’s what you want to go for.
- Choose your plant-based protein – ¨Beef¨ meatballs, spicy Italian ¨sausage¨ rounds.
- Choose your after-bake sauce – Extra Virgin Olive oil, Fiery Buffalo sauce, BBQ sauce, or their classic House Red sauce.
- Choose your spices – Add some black pepper, sea salt, oregano, or crushed red pepper.
None of Pieology’s signature pizzas are vegan. But they have loads of ingredients to choose from to create your own vegan pizza. Unfortunately, only their Gluten-Free crust is suitable for vegans. The rest contain either dairy, eggs, or honey. Even their Cauliflower crust is made with dairy and eggs. The vegan options at Pieology are also limited when it comes to plant-based cheese. They currently have just the Daiya dairy-free mozzarella available for vegans.
On a more positive note, the fast-casual restaurant chain offers a big variety of different veggie toppings. Most of their pizza sauces are safe for vegans. And they even have vegan meat alternatives. You do not need to pay extra for the Daiya mozzarella. Their plant-based meat toppings are only a dollar.
Pieology Vegan sides
There are many salad options at Pieology, but none of them are vegan-friendly. Unless you swap some of the ingredients with plant-based alternatives. It’s easier to just build your salad the same way you would your pizza.
- Choose your greens – Spring mix, romaine lettuce, or spinach.
- Choose your toppings – Black olives, banana peppers, roasted red peppers, green peppers, artichokes, red onions, cilantro, garlic, fresh basil, grape tomatoes, spinach, jalapenos, mushrooms, pineapple.
- Choose your cheese – Again, Daiya mozzarella is your only vegan option at Pieology
- Choose your plant-based protein – ¨Beef¨ meatballs, spicy Italian ¨sausage¨ rounds.
- Choose your salad dressing – Pieology has no actual salad dressings that are suitable for vegans. This is surprising and disappointing. But you could ask for some olive oil or one of the pizza sauces mentioned above. So that’s better than nothing.
Other than a salad, Pieology doesn’t have any sides that are good for vegans or that could be veganized.
Pieology Vegan desserts
Pieology offers no desserts or sweet bites that could be enjoyed by people following a vegan diet.
Vegan drinks at Pieology
Like all pizza chains, Pieology has many sodas available. Both fountain drinks and bottled drinks. They also offer their house-made lemonades. All this is vegan, no surprise there.
So is Pieology good for vegans?
Pieology is a great place for eating out when you want a good pizza. They don’t have many vegan pizza crusts and cheeses to choose from. But the gluten-free pizza crust and Daiya mozzarella aren’t bad, at least they have a vegan cheese option, not like Pizza Hut. And the variety of different toppings gives you some creative freedom. However, they could add a few more crust options, some real salad dressings, and even sides and desserts to be a more vegan-friendly place, like Mellow Mushroom. You won’t leave Pieology hungry but they have a lot of room for improvement.
