Schnitz is an Australian Chain-Restaurant that sells pretty much one thing: Schnitzels.
Table of Contents
Of course they sell some other things, such as Chips, Rolls, Wraps, and even Salads, but their main thing is Schnitzels. I’ve never ate there, as I’m not Australian and have yet to visit, but from what I’ve heard their food is great and I’d like to try it.
Schniz has a vegan replacement for basically everything non-vegan on their menu, and it’s really good from the folks I’ve talked to. We’ll go over all the vegan options below, but I’ll tell you right off — you’ll be well fed and thoroughly tastified after eating at Schnitz, even as a Vegan.
Vegan Bread & Wraps at Schnitz:
- Toasted Turkish Roll
- Toasted Tortilla Wrap
- Gluten-Free Wrap (Confirm Egg-Free)
You don’t have to get your Schnitz on/in one of these, you can get it just on a plate if you’d like. No worries.
Vegan Schnitz Options:
Vegan Patty with Traditional Crumbs
- Vegan Patty with Spicy Crumbs
- Vegan Patty with Crunchy Corn Crumbs (Gluten-Free)
- Vegan Patty without Crumbs (Not Recommended)
- Vegan Parma (Schnitz Add-on)
- Royal Chip Butty Style (Schnitz Add-on — Chips added into your sandwich/wrap)
Schnitz has a separate vegan and gluten-free “egg-wash” to enable the Crumbs to stick to your Vegan Patty, as well as a vegan cheese topping. Keep in mind you can add Smashed Avocado, sauteed bell peppers, Pickled Chili and Jalapenos, Paprika Salt Mix, Quinoa, Mixed Seeds, and Dried Cranberries to your Wrap/Sandwich if you get one of those rather than a Schnitz on a plate.
Vegan Side Dishes at Schnitz:
- Original Chips
- Sweet Potato Chips
- Garden Salad
- Quinoa (off-menu)
- Mixed Seeds (off-menu)
- Smashed Avocado (off-menu)
While many people question whether or not Schnitz’s French fries (Chips) are Vegan, they ALL are. The seasoning Schnitz uses is 100% Vegan and the oil they fry in is also plant-based.
Vegan Dressings & Dips at Schnitz:
- Zesty Lemon Dressing
- BBQ Dip
- BBQ Relish Dip
- Napolitana Sauce
- Tomato Dip
- Vegan Mayo
Unfortunately there’s only one real vegan salad dressing option, the Zezsty Lemon Dressing, but that sounds like a pretty tasty dressing to me.
